Welcome to Mrs. Butler's 5th grade Social Studies and Science Class

Welcome!!!

I am so excited for your student to be in my room.  A little about me: I am married with 2 children.  My daughter is in 7th grade and my son is a 2nd grader.  They are a joy.  Alaina is into horses and my son Joshua keeps us busy with all of his extra therapies and activities that we do to help promote Down Syndrome awareness.  Your student will hear a lot of stories about these 2 from time to time.  I have been teaching 5th grade at Ator Heights Elementary for 17 years now.  

 

In my room we will be learning about Social Studies and Science.  In Social Studies we start around Jamestown and learn history through the expansion West including the Revolutionary War, setting up of our Government, and Louisiana Purchase.  On my site you will find a link for the Social Studies standards for Oklahoma.

 

In Science, we study Earth and Space, Life Science and Physical Science.  You will find a link for the Science standards for Oklahoma.

 

I am really looking forward to teaching your student.  We have a lot to learn this year and I can't wait to take your student on this wonderful journey that we are going on.
