"The Leader in Me" is a curriculum developed by FranklinCovey that is based on the principles of Stephen R. Covey's best-selling book, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People." This curriculum is designed for schools and educators to help develop leadership skills and character in students. The core of the curriculum revolves around teaching students the following seven habits:

  1. Be Proactive: Taking initiative and being responsible for one's own actions.

  2. Begin with the End in Mind: Setting clear goals and having a vision for the future.

  3. Put First Things First: Prioritizing and managing time effectively.

  4. Think Win-Win: Seeking mutually beneficial solutions in interactions with others.

  5. Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood: Listening empathetically before expressing one's viewpoint.

  6. Synergize: Collaborating and working effectively in teams.

  7. Sharpen the Saw: Taking care of one's physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

The Leader in Me curriculum is not only focused on academic development but also on fostering personal leadership skills, self-confidence, and character. It is often implemented in K-12 schools and has been successful in creating a positive school culture and promoting student engagement.
